At the start of the pandemic, we launched our PRO Perspective series to equip brokers, investors, and principles with the data and conversation they needed to stay sharp, informed, and ready to face the changing tides of commercial real estate. What began as a labor of love exploded into 46 episodes produced this year, hosting nearly 50 CRE professionals and bringing on thousands of viewers nationwide.
To cap off a year of learnings and conversation, we’ve curated a collection of your favorite PRO Perspective webinars in 2020. From data-driven asset class performance talks to in-depth discussions about managing your brokerage and much more, these episodes were among the most popular in the series.
The Evolution of Net Leases
This PRO Perspective explored the evolution of net leases with Patrick Luther, Managing Director at SRS, National Net Lease Group. In this episode, Patrick and Crexi’s Matt Cors discussed how commercial real estate net lease transactions have become more efficient over time, the evolving role of a CRE broker in negotiating net leases, and take deep dive into strategic methodologies to navigate the nuances of net lease transactions.
This PRO Perspective featured some of the CRE’s top note sale experts on navigating the current loan note landscape. The female-led panel dove into topics ranging from first-time broker advice to how to attract and hire the best talent for your firm.
This episode featured Branson Blackburn and Matt Davis of Trinity REIS discussing the rising success of Dollar General and net leases. In this episode, Crexi’s Yannis Papadakis sat with Branson and Matt to discuss the rise of Dollar General and other net lease successes. The conversation ranges from the first appearance of discount stores, their resilience amid turbulent economic times, and how the Trinity REIS team has transacted more than 120 Dollar General assets in 2020.
Transforming CRE and Creating Opportunity
This PRO Perspective featured Kyle Matthews, founder of Matthews Real Estate Investment Services, to explore shaping CRE to create opportunity. In this episode, Crexi’s CEO Mike DeGiorgio and Matt Cors sat with Kyle to discuss what it takes to succeed in commercial real estate, how to create opportunities for yourself, and how CRETech is transforming the inner workings of the commercial property sector.
This episode featured Brett Hatcher and Gabriel Coe of Marcus & Millichap’s The Hatcher Group, talking about self storage properties. In this episode, Crexi’s Matt Cors sat with Brett and Gabriel to discuss the fundamentals of self storage assets, where the trajectory of the sector is headed, and how COVID has impacted activity in the self storage industry.
Starting Out in CRE
In this PRO Perspective, Larry Genet, SVP at CBRE, sat down with Crexi’s Matt Cors to discuss how to launch a career in commercial real estate. In this episode, Larry and Matt discussed a wide range of topics, including coronavirus’ ending of the bull market, kickstarting a commercial real estate career in an economic downturn, and the value of teamwork and mentorship in joining the CRE industry.
