The roof is comprised of an un-ballasted rubber membrane. The eastern section was recovered in
2003 and the western section was recovered in 1991. The joints were resealed in 2002 on both sections, and water evacuation from the roof was improved. A new standing seam metal roof was installed on the
office in 2014, New EPMD Roof upgrades 2021-2023. The entire roof has been on a PM program since 2004.
The subject property had previously been used for nickel plating and had some environmental issues as a
result thereof. In 2008 the property was entered into the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Registered Environmental Consultant Program. Various environmental assessments associated with historical operations have been conducted at the site. These activities included assessment of sludge management areas and solvent management practices.
These assessments included evaluation of groundwater, soil and vapors. In 2015 groundwater remediation was conducted at the site by injecting chemicals designed to enhance natural attenuations processes. Since that time, groundwater samples are collected and tested twice each year. It is our understanding that the onsite contaminants have been dissipating at regular
intervals according to current testing, and that no new contaminants have been found.
