Montevideo is in a double river valley where the Minnesota and Chippewa rivers converge, about 140 miles (230 km) west of Minneapolis, at the junction of U.S. Highways 59 and 212 with Minnesota State Highways 7 and 29. Montevideo is a city in Chippewa County, Minnesota. The population is approximately 7000 and it is the county seat of Chippewa County.
This championship golf course takes every advantage of the rolling hills, thriving forest, river views and long range views that surround this beautiful layout. Formerly known as “The Crossings at Montevideo”, River Crest was originally built in 1923 as a nine hole course. In 1994, the second nine was completed. River Crest is now a challenging 18 hole course with rolling hills, interesting greens, and just the right amount of sand to keep golfers on their toes. It is located on the bank of the Minnesota River where the Chippewa River crosses into the Minnesota River. Gorgeous greens surrounded by lush fairways making a shot makers paradise and a high handicapper's dream. There are also a putting greens, a driving range, a golf pro shop and beautifully remodeled restaurant and event space. This fair layout for all levels of golfers is a local favorite and this facility boasts a loyal membership and a fun event schedule.
