The Yankee Ranch is a row crop vegetable ranch located just north of the town of Greenfield and along the east side of Highway 101. With 355 acres of farmland is situated on an elevated bench and the soil is Arroyo Seco gravelly sandy loam, which is a well drained soil and a commonly found in Greenfield farmland.

Water is provided by two irrigation wells that reportedly produce 1,500 and 2,800 gallons per minute. Water is distributed through underground high-pressure PVC lines for both sprinkler and drip irrigation.

The ranch is located within the Forebay Aquifer Subbasin of the Salinas Valley, an area that has not historically been in overdraft with extraction close to sustainable yields.
