Physicians Plaza I, located in the heart of the South Texas Medical Center at the intersection of Wurzbach and Floyd Curl. Chartered in 1955, Methodist Hospital was the first hospital in the South Texas Medical Center and is the flagship of the Methodist Healthcare System. It is San largest private hospital and the largest provider of health care to rural communities in South Texas. Its network of affiliated facilities includes: Methodist Hospital, the only hospital in San Antonio designed and built especially for children; Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital, a full-service hospital with highly specialized programs; and Methodist Heart Hospital, which offers the most comprehensive cardiology services in South Texas. In late 2013, the hospital announced its largest construction project in its history, which expanded the footprint of campus by 445,000 square feet.
Building highlights
Six-story medical office building connected to Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital by a covered walkway. The building offers covered physician parking and convenient patient parking. It is not equipped with a fire sprinkler system. The cooling tower and several water source heat pumps were replaced in 2019, and an elevator modernization project was completed in the beginning of 2020.
