Marketing description

Harvey & Diana Kloesel began their restaurant business on July 1, 1970 in a small café that seated 32 people which they rented. It was located where the Moulton Post Office is today. Within eight months they realized they had outgrown the café, purchased the present building from Ed and Minnie Pundt and began renovating. In May 1971 they moved to the new location making their home in the living quarters above the restaurant (the upstairs living quarters were very convenient in keeping them close to their two children, laura and jason, while they were growing up. The west dining room was already a part of the building, but the kitchen was expanded extensively. The car garage and storage room was kept on the east side of the restaurant until 1972 when it was torn down, and the east wing was added and made into a dining room .n 1997 a historical marker was erected marking Kloesel’s Steakhouse as the site of the Moore Hotel, a historical landmark built by Samuel Moore, one of the original founders and settlers of Moulton.
An interesting footnote: The Kotzebue family from whom the Kloesels purchased their home were the last owners of the Moore Hotel.
The front porch was later remodeled for customers enjoyment. In 2010 a large outside deck with seating was added. Kloesel’s now has seating for 250 people. Over the years historical pictures and antiques were added and are still being added to the inside decor.
All steaks at kloesel’s are USDA choice heavy aged beef and are freshly cut in the Kloesel’s preparation room. In addition to the aged beef, Kloesel’s also serves grilled and fried seafood, pasta, fried chicken, Tex-Mex, burgers, sandwiches and salads. Homemade plate lunches are served daily.
The salad dressings and sauces are family recipes prepared fresh each week. Only zero trans fat canola oil is used for frying at Kloesels. The salad dressings, homemade pies, fresh made hamburger buns, and fresh steaks are available for purchase.
