Investment highlights
In partnership with the Detroit Building Authority, the city Neighborhood Economic Development team seeks proposals from qualified entities to rehabilitate a former Public Lighting Authority Substation building, located off Grand River and I-96. The building at 10541 Turner is approximately 1,525 square feet, and the site is located on Turner St between Cloverdale St and I-96 Freeway, just west of Straight Gate Church and Merit Park.
The City of Detroit seeks well-designed proposals that will build upon the inherent strengths of the site and preserve its historic character.
The City seeks a commercial redevelopment for the site at 10541 Turner. Although the site is currently zoned M2, the City aims to reposition this site for commercial uses that are in line with a B4 zoning district, which allows for a wide variety of uses by-right. These include coffee & bake shops, art gallery, neighborhood center/non-profit, lofts, brewpub or microbrewery, bar, printing shop, recording/photo or video studios, or other retail business types (without drive-through).
Respondents will be responsible for conducting their own due diligence on what additional zoning and permitting approvals, if any, may be required.
