The Place Types of the Durham Comprehensive Plan shows where, geographically on a map, different types of land uses should be in the future. They are a geographic depiction of how the community has said it wants to look over the next several decades.

The Property, 2405 & 2419 E Cornwallis Street, has a specific Place Type of General Industrial (GI). General Industrial places include heavy industrial uses like manufacturing and warehousing and are usually located along major roadways or railroad corridors. These areas usually require access for larger trucks or railroads to bring goods in and out of the sites.
