All lands within the confines of the Shreveport Downtown Airport are owned and controlled by the Shreveport Airport Authority, as well as the Federal Aviation Authority. The privately owned hangars included ground leases with the Authority and as such, only the improvements are privately owned.

Shreveport Downtown Airport (DTN) is a general aviation/reliever airport located five minutes away from the Shreveport Downtown Business District. Flights from the downtown airport began in 1929 with Delta Air Lines. Construction for the original terminal building began in 1930, with the official opening and dedication taking place in June, 1931. In July, 1971, the current terminal building was dedicated and opened for business. The Downtown Airport offers two runways, Runway 14/32, measuring 5,017 feet long by 150 feet wide and Runway 5/23 measures 4,198 feet long by 75 feet wide. More than 350 aircraft are based at DTN, which makes it the largest general aviation airport in Louisiana.
