Supplementing information 3,557 acres below, this summarizes the APPROVED $4,545,000 Federal & State Grant funded installation of +/- 2 miles of concrete RipRap on the Trinity Bay shoreline of 1,739ac Conservation Easement (CE).
This Project has been planned for several years and may commence 2022/2023. The 1,739ac CE is the only reason that CE’s +/- 2 miles of Trinity Bay shoreline qualifies for this $4,545,000 grant funding.
$4,545,000 grant is funded by $50,000 USFWS and $4,495,000 TXGLO/CEPRA/GOMESA for the GORDY MARSH RESTORATION AND SHORELINE PROJECT (PROJECT ID R1-4) with approval by USFW and Texas General Land Office/Coastal Erosion Planning and Response Act (CEPRA).
Matt Singer, Galveston Bay Foundation (GBF), says the Project is supported by US Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston and, the Chambers/Liberty Counties Navigation District (CLCND) has signed a lease concerning the Project.
Attached PDF (8 pages), contains Regulatory Authorizations: CLCND Lease # 003-20 CE and USACE Permit # SWG-2020-00429, Project information, details, aerial depictions and preliminary drawings for the Project.
Engineered drawings are being prepared for Project Bid purposes soon. GBF hopes Project construction commences Summer 2022.
This $4,545,000 grant funded Project will have a considerable and immediate positive impact on 3,557 acres for the following reasons:
preserves and protects +/- 2 miles of Trinity Bay shoreline of 1,739ac CE and all 3,557ac,
enhances & expands shoreline acreage and quality of shoreline habitat,
enhances the quality & sustainability of the natural habitat and hunting/recreational purposes for more of the 3,557 acres than just 1,739 acre Conservation Easement,
enhances overall marketability of 3,557 acres,
additional attributes of 3,557 acres include but are not limited to:
+/- 5 miles road frontage FM 562,
Entergy electric service,
water and sanitary sewer service, Trinity Bay Conservation District (TBCD) in FM 562 ROW
throughout 1,739ac Conservation Easement, Owner’s rights of hunting, fishing, grazing cattle and interior road maintenance are preserved to Owner and
throughout 1,739ac Conservation Easement, Owner’s rights of ingress/egress on 45 acre interior roadway to 59 acre Trinity Bay waterfront, hunting lodge location in northwest area of CE are preserved to Owner.
+/- 3,557ac Property has approximately 2.2 miles shore line on Trinity Bay and approximately 3.5 miles fronting FM 562 (Smith Point Rd).
Aside from agricultural use, Property could be used for Corporate Events, Family Reunions and/or hunting: Water Fowl, White Tail deer, feral hogs, alligators and dove.
Of +/- 3,557ac FOR SALE, approximately 1,739 acres are subject to a Conservation Easement (CE) which preserves hunting, fishing and grazing rights on 1,739ac to the Owner within guidelines of CE.
+/- 3,557ac FOR SALE is located near Moody Wildlife Refuge (3,700ac) and close to Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge (34,000ac).
