Back in 2008, a builder commenced construction on four single story four-plex condominiums, which, at the time, were approved by the City of Long Beach (original building sketch in Documents). Three of the four framed slabs were poured before the bank pulled funding due to the bank issues of the recession.
Although a local civil engineer met with the City code official indicating the poured slabs and possibly the PVC plumbing that had not been exposed to sunlight could be certified by his engineering firm. However, the Code Office official indicated he’d argue against the project as there were no longer records held by the City to verify the slabs were poured to specs.
If someone were to take up the gauntlet to present their plan to the Planning Commission, using the existing slabs, he or she could possible save on building expenses.
